Fenghuang rice cooker
In the first semester of 2006 I took part in the Domestic Appliances course, where I got the assignment to design a rice cooker for the Chinese market, especially taking into account human-product interaction, personality, and the marketability in an already saturated market.
I designed a rice cooker which I called the Fenghuang, whose main quality is that it is wall-mounted. The specially shaped rim ensures that the rice bowl cannot fall out. Various accessory pieces can be placed in the rice bowl, which for instance allow vegetables to be steamed.
The report I made for this course is covered here.
